Pretty In Pink - April 2, 2011

Brad and Liz were married on April 2, 2011.  They met through Liz's brother, who worked with Brad.  Liz is a bubbly blonde who is all about PINK!  Her 10 bridesmaids (5 were her sisters) looked amazing in watermelon hot pink long gowns, which looked great alongside the groomsmen's black tuxes.

The ceremony and reception (around 300 guests) was held in a church close to where Liz grew up.

Liz chose (from Marlo's Rental's) for the platform two 8' pillars with fabric draping, accented with ivy and hot pink rose clusters at the cornices of the pillars.  She also decorated with our two white floor candelabras with ivy and hot pink roses, which looked beautiful behind the 10 attendants on each side wearing that hot pink and black!  With that much pop of color, nothing else was needed!

Lining the aisles were our white aisle candelabras (my favorite!) with white and off-white roses and hydrangeas, ivy and ribbons.  The inspiration for these came from Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey's wedding.  These candelabras are a great price and are one of our most popular rental items.

Liz cut costs by using DIY bouquets made by her bridesmaids, with fresh roses ordered in bulk from Costco, photos taken by a trusted friend and food made by her family.  Liz was the first of six girls (from a family of eight siblings) to get married and it was awesome to see everyone pitch in to help her have the wedding she and her budget were thrilled with!

Matt & Krysten - November 16, 2010

On Saturday, November 16, 2010, Krysten & Matt were married at the Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio.  It was a very special wedding for me, as I have been friends with Krysten's parents since college and her grandparents attended college with my parents in NYC.  PLUS, she had been my daughter's roommate and close friend for years.

It was a cool, crisp fall day (cooler as the day went on).  The leaves had been falling, but the sun was shining and the holidays were peaking around the corner!  Since the wedding and reception were held at the country club, it made things a lot easier to set up and decorate. That staff knows how to move quickly!!

The colors of the wedding were Black & Gold (Krysten and Matt are Steeler and Penguins fans)...need I say more?  Being from the Pittsburgh area myself, I was thrilled!  The girls wore black strapless dresses with fabulous Steeler (yellow) chunky necklaces, which set them off in a very trendy way!

Krysten chose (from Marlo's Rentals) for the wedding site: white chair covers and black sashes and a pair of brass inverted V candelabras, with chunky white pillar candles and a spray of yellow  & white roses.

We decorated the reception tables with Eiffel tower vases which held yellow roses & white calla lilies with black tulle bows at the base (so easy, so elegant, so... reasonably priced!).  We then draped the bridal tables with white lights and black tulle and, with it being an evening wedding, it really helped the room glow as the sun began to set.  A birdcage card holder decorated in her colors was perfect for wedding guests to safely place their cards in.

I had the honor of working with CT Photo Memories (Anne &; Colleen are totally awesome and affordable), Christina from Christina's Distinctive Bouquets (who, I am sad to say, no longer does floral arranging), Betsy Berlin (cake maker - yummy!), Mike Borst (wedding officiant) and Columbus DJ, along with the staff at JCC.  It truly was an awesome day.  Congrats to the happy newlyweds - Matt &a Krysten!!

Weddings Galore!

I love weddings!  ALL THINGS WEDDINGS!!  It's a time when all the world seems right and two people come together to pledge their love and to share their day with family and friends in a way that is unique to them.

I (Marilyn) began my journey as a wedding coordinator at my church in 1987 when a very dear friend of mine, who had been coordinating for many years, passed the torch on to me as she was getting ready to "retire" from the job.  I even remember her giving me her vintage copy of Emily Post's book on wedding etiquette, which I have to this day.

So many years have passed and, after my son's wedding in May 2010 and my friend and business partner, Lois's, daughter's wedding (her daughter got married the week before my son - I know, crazy, right?!), we decided to open a wedding rental business along with my wedding consulting business.  We work hard to save brides time and money.

With today's economy, everyone is looking for ways to save money, while still having the wedding of their "dreams" within their "means"!  Marlo's Rentals does that for each bride; we make it our priority to help brides save money in ways they never thought they could.

I am committed to helping brides as a wedding consultant/planner at their rehearsal & on their wedding day at a price they can afford so that they (and their family) can truly take in all the wonder of this special event.  It all goes so quickly and peace of mind that day is the best gift I can give a bride!!

We hope you contact us to help with your wedding in any way we can.

Congratulations and let the fun begin! We wish you the best!!

LaMonica & Jeff - June 11, 2011

LaMonica & Jeff were married at a church in Westerville on Saturday, June 11.  I was the wedding planner & it was a pleasure to work with the bride as she had waited a long time for this big day!!!

The bride chose from Marlo's Rentals white columns draped with fabric &; rose nosegays at the cornices of the columns.  She lined the church aisles with our most popular white aisle candelabras with floral rings and satin ribbons.  We were able to save the bride a TON of money by renting to her a beautiful rose bridal bouquet and all of the bridesmaids' and groomsmen's flowers, which were beautiful Calla lilies.

The reception was held in the church's Activity Center & the ceiling was draped with fabric (another top rental item).  The bride did DIY centerpieces that matched her color scheme of Black, Ivory & White.  It truly was a beautiful wedding that we were happy to do while keeping within the bride's budget.
